Monsoon season has a way of sneaking up on homeowners. One heavy rain, and an uncovered or undersized window well can funnel water straight into your basement. It happens faster than most people expect - and the damage it causes is rarely cheap to fix.

That's why a quick inspection this time of year is worth it. We're looking for a few key things: is the well draining properly, is there debris buildup around the drain, and is there anything covering the well to keep the next round of rain out. A lot of homes we visit have nothing on them at all.

We work with a range of window well cover styles depending on the well size and shape. The clear polycarbonate covers you see here let natural light into the basement while still keeping rain, leaves, and debris out. The aluminum framing holds up over time without rusting or warping. They fit snug against the well and the house - no gaps for water to sneak in.

Whether it's a small half-round well or a larger egress window well, there's a cover option that fits right. Some wells need a flat-profile cover that sits low to the ground, others need something with more height to clear the window opening. We make sure what goes on actually fits what's there - not just something close enough.

If your window wells are sitting open right now, it's worth getting eyes on them before the next storm rolls through. We're offering free inspections - just give us a call and we'll come take a look.
