Five window wells. One job. And no two of them were exactly the same. That's pretty typical with window well work - each location around the house has its own quirks, whether it's existing landscaping, utility lines running down the wall, or in this case, a deck that was partially in the way. We don't cut corners to work around obstacles like that. We removed what we needed to, got the fit right, and put it back together clean.

Every well got a fresh rock foundation laid inside, landscaping fabric to keep things tidy and drainage-friendly, and fresh caulking where the well meets the foundation. We also applied treatment on both the inside and outside surfaces. These aren't just cosmetic details - they're what separate a well that holds up for years from one that starts causing headaches after the first hard rain.

One thing that matters a lot with window wells and doesn't get talked about enough is how the cover sits. A flat cover pools water. A sloped cover sheds it away from the window. Every well on this job got a sloped cover, which keeps moisture from sitting right where you don't want it - up against your basement window frame. Polycarbonate covers are coming next, which will let light through while keeping debris and water out.

The window well landscaping around each install was also tidied up to match the existing rock beds. That matters more than people expect. A well-installed window well that looks thrown in is still going to bother you every time you walk past it. These sit flush, sit clean, and blend into the surrounding rock work rather than sticking out like an afterthought.
