Water finding its way into a basement is one of those problems that starts small and gets expensive fast. Bad grading, no drainage, and an open window well are basically an open invitation for moisture to work its way toward your foundation. That's exactly the kind of situation we showed up to fix on this one.
We knocked out several new window well installations across a few different homes, paired each one with a properly fitted clear cover, and regraded the areas around the foundation to push water away where it belongs. The clear polycarbonate covers we use let natural light through to the basement while keeping rain, debris, and pests out. That's a combination a lot of homeowners don't realize they can have - protection without sacrificing brightness down below.
The drainage piece is where a lot of other installs fall short. It's not enough to just drop a window well in and call it done. We made sure the grading and rock bed around each well actually moves water away from the house. You can see the clean edging and fresh rock work along the foundation - that's not just for looks. It's a functional part of keeping water moving in the right direction.
Every well got a fitted cover secured with bolts through the aluminum frame - tight, clean, and not going anywhere. We do this work across the Denver area and we see the same story a lot: a window well that was either installed without a cover, or had one that cracked and never got replaced. Either way, the basement pays the price eventually.
If you've got a drainage concern around your foundation or window wells that are just sitting open, we offer free inspections. No pressure - just a straight answer on what you're dealing with and what it would take to fix it right.
